The NWPS is a new Society for all those with an interest in the natural
world and its promotion and portrayal through photography. The four
founder members are all keen amateur photographers with a strong
interest in the natural world, and who have many years' experience
between them of running a small club.
We define "the natural world" in the wider sense of the phrase, in that we
include landscapes etc., as well as flora and fauna.
We are not a traditional camera club and it is not our intention to
compete with the many excellent such clubs that exist in Surrey and
Sussex. Our aim is to provide a forum and meeting place for those
especially interested in both photography and the natural world, be this
taking photographs themselves or just seeing and hearing about the
work and experiences of others. You don't even need to own a camera to
join !! If you do, though, be it film or digital, then there will be plenty of
opportunities to share and talk about your pictures in a warm, friendly
and convivial environment.
The club will meet on the last Thursday of each month at the Crawley Club, Crawley, Sussex. The
club is fully licensed and has it's own free and spacious car park. Crawley bus and trains stations
are a few minutes walk away.
The NWPS is affiliated to both the Surrey Photographic Association and the Photographic Alliance
of Great Britain and is a member of Crawley Arts Council.
